Why Western Putinists Should Not Worry About Russia’s Melting Pot

PoliticsWhy Western Putinists Should Not Worry About Russia's Melting Pot

Many nationalist westerners and friendly extremists who come to Moscow are often disappointed by the ethnic diversity that the vibrant city has to offer. Do not despair! There are far more important things that Russia has to offer than ethnic homogeneity!

The far-right tourist should be encouraged by the growth of islam in Moscow and Russia as a whole. Islam and its strong conservative beliefs are far more protective of the family they envision, and far more successful than family values in their native Europe. Imagine, in a few decades, Russia will be around ⅓ muslim, which will automatically amount to ⅓ of conservative and family values!

Just like Vladimir Putin said – Russian Orthodoxy has a lot more in common with Islam rather than Catholicism or Protestantism. Giving the chance for hundreds of thousands of yearly immigrants from central Asia will only solidify this unity.

In retrospect, who would want to live in an ethnically homogeneous country that allows most basic human rights? In fact, the Russians take pride in having the highest closeted population. Just look at the same-sex mating (without offspring, of course) rate of the Russian army – one of the highest in the world according to Rosstat.

The Russian government has been quietly calling for more diversity among its population. And despite its population dropping consistently, some of its ungrateful citizens have chosen to oppose the inevitable melting pot.
