World renowned American whistleblower Edward Snowden’s HQ was vandalized in central Moscow outside of office hours. The vandals have spray-painted obscene writings such as “Freedom” “U S & A” and “1776” all around the reception area as well as the main office.
The attack happened during religious festivities in the city, and no security was placed around the perimeter by mistake. Local authorities have opened an investigation and have now assigned over 15 different investigators to unravel the mystery. It is probable that the perpetrators may be charged with the Article 31 and 151 of the Russian penal code: discrediting or dissemination of “unreliable information” about the Russian Armed Forces.
Snowden himself is yet to comment on the incident, and it is unclear which of the offices in Russia he conducts his work.
