Russia’s Delegation to China this week went to extra lengths to show its commitment to the Chinese. In a show of friendship, solidarity and loyalty, the Russian delegates started singing a Chinese Communist song ‘The East is Red’. This was the former anthem of the Chinese Communist Party, until the March of the Volunteers. However, the Russian delegates, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, vowed to learn the March of the Volunteers for their next visit.
After the song, Lavrov vowed to lower prices of oil exported to China another 20%, and the two sides further signed agreements for Chinese access to all of Russia’s natural resources. In a sign of genius diplomatic manoeuvres, Lavrov again showed that the CIA will never be able to break the China-Russia bond. The meeting ended with another singing of ‘The East is Red’.
