Kind enough to speak to the Gulag Digest, Mr. Farage listed his top 5 favorite Russian family values:
1. Wives and mothers sending their husbands and sons to war to get a paycheck from the government. This family value in particular is fascinating, as it shows the unity of many households. It shows they are bound by love and kind-heartedness.
2. Marriage right before mobilization. Many newlyweds are couples of mobilized soldiers and women seeking to establish a financial foothold in society. The hope that their new husbands never return from the special military war, has revitalized the institution of marriage in Russia! Big win.
3. The love for white Ladas. The white Lada, being the most popular vehicle for Russian women, has been iconic for women’s rights in Russia. You just love to see them buzzing around Moscow, causing traffic. If only Britain was as passionate about their own cars. Big win for tradition and family values!
4. Idolizing WW2 Victory Day : from World War II, to the war in Ukraine, a family tradition that has passed on: to take up arms and go against a damning stream of bullets. If only Britain would stop focusing on personal well-being, humanitarianism and democracy, we too could achieve these heights! A young man growing up in rural Russia is obliged to go to war now if he remembers what his great-grandfather had to go through. Forget about the horrors or senselessness of war, just do it!
