The Russian Red Cross, the world famous humanitarian organization that provides assistance in health and other emergencies in conflict zones, has unveiled its new logo.
A massive “Z” can be seen in the center. Critics and CIA-bots have pointed out that this is not a cross. However, the chairman, Pavel Savchuk, has explained the decision:
“Look, we know this isn’t a cross. But we don’t want to lose out on the budget for next year, nor do we want to be charged with discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. This is for the best of this organization in Russia. Will it be difficult to identify our humanitarian aid? Yes. Will people not recognize our trucks and other vehicles without the red cross on it? Maybe.”
This raises the concern that the organization cannot be considered a humanitarian aid volunteer organization if the red cross is gone. Suggestions of changing the name to Red CroZZ or the Red Army Cross haven’t yet been considered.
