A Russian Whistleblower, thought to be a member of Russia’s security agency FSB, has been arrested. After security forces were called in due to a report the presence of a whistleblower, it was first thought that someone was leaking information to the Americans. Instead, it was a man who was blowing a whistle on the red square in Moscow.
It was quite surprising at first, however precautions are always preferred by the Russian police. Hence, the man was arrested for espionage. Any type of whistleblowing in Russia is prohibited, whether blowing into a real whistle or leaking information, and most importantly: criticizing beloved president Putin.
The man, who is likely to be sentenced to life in Russia, will not be able to appeal the decision of the court. The punishment means he will have to stay in Russia.
